Tonight is indeed the night, November Criminals fans! It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. We’ve written, memorized, practiced, recorded, mixed, mastered, remastered, designed and printed and now it’s time for it all to come together. We look forward to seeing you all at the Riverwest Public House tonight to celebrate this achievement with us. Doors open at 8pm with the first act taking the stage at 9:00. $5 at the door.

Thank you to all our family and friends who have supported and championed us over these many months. Thank you to all the amazing performers and artists who have shared the stage with us. Thank you to all the venues who have given us a platform and special thanks to our muses: Polka and Hip Hop, without whom we would be nothing. PROST! See you all tonight!

    The Spawning Grounds

We want to give a huge shout-out to our man Troutski (aka Kilgore Trout) of the Brew City Banditz and Fishpause Records for helping us out with the album. We recorded some of our favorite songs at The Spawning Grounds, Trout’s home-made studio and practice space. He also produced and performed with us on the song Sausage Fest, which showcases his innate musical talent as well as his lyrical sense of humor.

    Thanks Trout!

I’m excited and nervous all at the same time. One thing I know for sure, it’s going to be ridiculous.

We’re a week away from our CD release! Of course we’ll be there but I thought I’d do a few posts leading into the show about the other groups playing that night.
Melatomica consists of two people Tomica and Melica.

    Legendary Forest Dwellers: Melatomica

    Legendary Forest Dwellers: Melatomica

I don’t remember how we met so I will make something up.
Years ago before the recession when I was a billionaire I was walking my pet fox, Luminary, along the shore of beautiful Lake Michigan.

Suddenly! A strange noise startled Luminary and she bolted into the forest. I called out “LUMINARY!” over and over but all I heard was the noise… a sort of metallic honk, like a duck cyborg: A harmonica! As I walked toward the noise I heard a bass guitar playing a line that seemed to add to the mystery of my lost fox.

Then I came to a glen.

“what is that music?” I asked Glen.

“That? That’s Melatomica! Tomica loops his beatboxing and harmonica and sings over it while Melica plays bass and wears killer boots. They are awesome!”

I never found Luminary but I found Melatomica! Come to the Public House and find them for yourself!

I miss that fox. She could sing the prettiest Christmas carols. Still, Melatomica is a pretty damned good trade, all things considered.

    Sooper Dooper!

The amazing company we’re working with to produce the CDs themselves and the packaging for them contacted us today to make sure we were happy with how the first test prints wee looking. We bounced a few more versions of the art back and forth until we were 100% pleased. We cannot say too many nice things about this company. If you’re in the Madison/Milwaukee area and want really professional CD and DVD duplication and replication with a ton of great packaging options at an amazing price, please contact Sooper Dooper today! You won’t be disappointed that you did. I can’t wait to see the final product in person!

    The Art is DONE!

I’ve just completed the Cd face art and the packaging art for the CDs! We sent the masters and all this goodness off to our dupers, so now we play the waiting game. Here’s a sneak peak at what the CD itself is going to look like.

    The CD is Mastered!

We’ve finally finished mastering the CD, with the help and kindness of a whole slew of people, most recently Jason Loveall of The Danglers and other brilliant musical enterprises.  The day of its unleashing draw nigh, people! Soon enough you will be able to feast your ears upon fully realized November Criminals music! Stay tuned for more!
